Chinchilla vs Dog

Don’t worry, if we thought there was any danger we wouldn’t let them play. They get along very well - in fact, Skip (the Jack Russell) is a bit timid around her, and generally hides his head in my lap when she comes out to play.
(Note: Our Jack Russell is older, and very mellow. He walks right past pigeons and is curious, but not aggressive toward mice. Jack Russells and many other small dogs are built to go after rodents, so I would not recommend letting them interact unless you’re absolutely sure of their demeanor. In my experience, larger dogs tend to be more forgiving of chinchillas and other small animals (regarding them as curiosities). We’re lucky to have such a peaceful pup.)

awee :] dont listen to these people the dog doesn’t seem to care. the chinchilla is just playing people, haha so don’t worry. if the dog was bothered, he’d run away or bark at him or something, and the dog just keeps going on with his buisness.

This is priceless. I have an 85 lb basset hound who is 13 and has his 4 cats. He loves and cuddles them and they curl up in his belly to sleep. He even lets them have some of his canned food before he eats it. They adore him and have hissed at me when I clean his ears and they think I’m hurting him!

i used to really love fur coats. l think they are still beautiful. but look at how small the chinchilla is. how many would it take to make a coat? and that’s not right. what if people were hunted and killed for their skin because it was exotic? something to think about.
